Breakfast at the hotel. This day of the tour will be dedicated to visiting Petra. On the other hand, no
trip to Jordan can be called complete without having visited the capital of the ancient Nabataean
Kingdom, a mystical and glorious place, the eternal tribute of a lost civilization. Petra was
discovered in 1812 by a Swiss explorer named Johannes Burckhardt who, disguising himself as an
Arab, under the name of Sheikh Ibrahim, convinced his Bedouin guide took him to the lost city he
had heard so much about. Meeting point of the Nabataean Spice Road, of caravans coming from the
Persian Gulf, western Arabia and the Red Sea, Petra, about two thousand years ago, it became the
capital of the Nabataean Empire. The city was so famous that one of its kings, Aretas IV, is even
mentioned in the Bible. The natural richness of the mountainous area combines superbly with the
refined culture and impressive architecture of this tribe Bedouin, who carved their theaters, temples,
facades, tombs, and monasteries, entirely in pink sandstone rocks. It is not surprising, therefore, if
UNESCO has included Petra in its world heritage list. After walking along the Siq, the largest
monument unexpectedly appears famous Petra, easily recognizable thanks to the final scene of the
film “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade”. But the Treasury is just the beginning!
Entering the archaeological site you will be revealed, from time to time, hundreds of buildings
struck in the stone and eroded, over the centuries, in fabulous multicolored walls. Dinner and
overnight stay at Wadi Rum, where it will be possible to enjoy a traditional Bedouin “Zarb” dinner
cooked below earth and admire the vault of heaven.

spectacular sites in the area. At the end of the tour, you will be offered a refreshing cup of tea
prepared by the Bedouins. Transfer to the Dead Sea. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 11: Dead Sea – Madaba – Mount Nebo – Amman, Rainbow Street Walk With Al-Quds

the prestigious collection of mosaics for which the city is known (in the Church of San George the
mosaic of the oldest map of Palestine, created in 560, is preserved A.D.). Today, Madaba is the
symbol of coexistence and tolerance between different religious communities. In fact, the largest
community lives here Christians from Jordan. You will then visit Mount Nebo, located nearby and
best known for being the place where God showed Moses the Promised Land. You will continue
towards Little Petra crossing the Way of the Kings, the ancient commercial route, dating back to the
Nabataean era, which it connected Egypt, passing through the Sinai to Aqaba, Damascus and the
banks of the Euphrates in modern-day Iraq. Transfer to Amman. Stroll along Rainbow Street
